Out In The Country
If there’s one thing I miss about living on a farm, it would have to be having empty and gorgeous country right out your door to hike around in and make photos. I used to go for walks in the woods and pastures just east of my parents’ farm and would often take a camera along to shoot the beautiful and subtle landscape of the Missouri River bluffs.
I read that the whole idea of a suburban lawn comes from the sheep-tended grounds of noble estates. It makes sense to me, because for my money, there’s nothing a lovely as the savannah-like expanse of a good pasture. Mind the pies, y’all.
